Background:
A client required a comprehensive testing solution for an RF-based sensor system installed on a vehicle. The goal was to ensure the sensor's performance and reliability in detecting and tracking various objects under different conditions. They needed a system that could simulate real-world scenarios, perform health checks, and provide detailed data analysis for sensor calibration.
Solution:
We developed a RF based Testbed designed to simulate interactions between RF sensors on the vehicle and various targets. The system synchronized RF sensor testing with a target simulator, ensuring accurate real-time tracking and object detection. Health checks were incorporated for both the RF sensor and target simulators to monitor system health throughout the testing process. The system used Profile Simulation to simulate vehicle movement and target behavior. Additionally, an Acceptance Test Procedure (ATP) was applied to validate the system’s performance. Data was sent to the RF sensor every 25 ms, which processed the incoming data, displaying the signal spectrum, signal levels, and key parameters of data packets.
Outcome:
The solution ensured that the RF sensor system performed accurately under varying conditions, improving object detection and tracking capabilities for the vehicle. This testing process enhanced the reliability and robustness of the client’s sensor system, speeding up product development and deployment.
