Automated Weather System Software

Automated Weather System Software

Overview

The existing weather monitoring system records temperature, pressure, humidity, wind speed, and direction at hourly intervals, storing data in RAM for up to three months. However, it operates as a standalone system with no computer connectivity, limited storage, and no real-time graphical representation. Extreme weather events between recording intervals remain uncaptured.

Challenges

Key limitations include data loss due to RAM storage, the inability to transfer or store data on external devices, and the absence of real-time visualization. Additionally, users cannot generate reports or analyze trends effectively.

Solution & Impact

A new software solution was implemented to network multiple stations, capture extreme values, and store data on a computer for historical and statistical analysis. It enables real-time graphical and numerical representation, ensuring better accuracy and decision-making. This enhancement provides long-term data retention, improves accessibility, and enhances meteorological monitoring efficiency.
